IRTE 12th Annual Golf Day
The 12thAnnual IRTE Golf Day took place on Wednesday, 9 March 2011 at the Kempton Park Golf Club, with a full course of 33 x 4-balls. The response to this year’s event was so tremendous that five 4-ball requests unfortunately had to be declined!
1st Prize Winners
1st prize went to the JOST team, namely Keith Turner, Pieter Bosman, Christo de Clerk and Mark Botha (left)
2nd prize was won by GRENCO’s Rob Shaw, Paul Wilkinson, Jan-Hendrik Pretorius and Louis Swart, and
3rd prize went to JOST’s second 4-ball,
consisting of Kevin Shea, Martin Minne, Jannes Venter and
Fred Kershaw.

Congratulations to Mark Botha, who not only played in the winning 4-ball, but also walked away with a putter as winner of the Nearest the Pin competition! Valdi Prinsloo, who played in the Tanker Services team, took home a wedge for winning the Nearest the Pin competition. Both prizes were kindly sponsored by Freightliner/Fuso.
Prizes were also donated by BPW Axles, Drive-Report, Fleetwatch Magazine, Focus on Transport, MAN Truck & Bus, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, TFM Industries and ZF.
Vehicles were displayed on the course by Afrit, JMR Parts & Accessories, Mercedes-Benz TRUCK, Mercedez-Benz VAN, Scania and UD Trucks - and Jaguar Bryanston displayed two of their latest models at the golf club entrance as sponsors of the Registration area. There were no less than five watering holes on the day, which were sponsored by Afrit, JMR Parts & Accessories, Jost, Scania and Wabco! Holes were also sponsored by BPW Axles, CTS Trailers and ZF.
Our players were: Afrisam, Afrit, BPW Axles, CTS Trailers, D & A Power Products (Allison), Drive-Report, Freightliner/Fuso, Grenco, JMR Parts & Accessories, Jost, Karin Liddle Design, MAN Truck & Bus, Mercedes-Benz BUS, TRUCK and VAN, MM Hydraulics, Powerstar, Scania, Tanker Services, TFM Industries, UD Trucks, Unitrans, Wabco and ZF.
The evening entertainment area was kindly sponsored by MAN Truck & Bus and the bar by Powerstar. IRTE Vice-Chairman, Andre Cilliers, was Master of Ceremonies at the prize-giving and local singer, Vanessa Palm, kept the guests mesmorised for the better part of the evening.
The Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Committee Members would once again like to express their sincere thanks to each and every one of those who so generously contributed towards making this year’s golf day one of the most successful yet.
