IRTE Membership

The Benefits of IRTE Membership

An identity with the Institute, and through it with other bodies involved in road transport engineering;
Use of the Institute's logo and coat of arms on your business stationery;
Meeting individual members at local centres. Listing in documentation produced by IRTE (Southern African Regions);
Priority booking of tables at Institute Dinner-Dances and other social functions;
Advice on qualifications, training and experience needed by employees for individual IRTE membership or professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa;
Evaluation and comment (on request) of company in-house training schemes;
Priority booking and/or reduced rates for Institute conferences and seminars in Southern Africa, including jointly-sponsored events;
A complimentary airmailed copy of Transport Engineer with its various supplements;
Five membership cards to IRTE (Southern Africa Regions) for allocation to members of your staff at your discretion, which will allow them member privileges at Southern African functions and meetings;
Access to the IRTE (Southern Africa Regions) list of road transport engineering consultants and expert witnesses (currently being established);
Involvement in various technical, legislative and educational working groups;
Use of the Bulletin Board on the IRTE (Southern African Regions) website (currently being established).

If you would like to apply for membership, you may download a Portable Document Format application form. (This needs Acrobat Reader to open. You may download Acrobat Reader from the Adobe web site, http://www.adobe.com.) This form is issued by the Society of Operations Engineers in London. As a consequence, the addresses and bank transfer details on the form relate to the UK. Ignore the references to British banks and complete those sections for your South African bank. The postal address at the end of the form is that of the SOE, London. To apply for IRTE South Africa membership, post the form to:
